I am currently scanning and uploading my Pacemaker Press images, taken between 1965 and 1977, to an on-line archive at photoshelter.com.

Prospective purchasers can then browse these images online and, once authorised as bona fide clients, download full resolution images 24/7.

The Photoshelter system monitors downloads and provides me with a print-out of what has been downloaded by whom and when and at what resolution.

Magazines and book publishers, newspapers and television documentary makers all like to see as big a selection as possible from which to choose. Having images available for internet browsing makes life easier for both buyer and seller.

In the hope of making my online archive the first stop for anyone wanting images from N Ireland or Ireland in general I would be pleased to include YOURS. The online photographs will clearly state that they are your copyright.

Although it won't cost you anything I am not promising to make you a fortune either! Those negatives or colour slides in a shoe box in the bottom of the wardrobe with a bit of luck could earn you some cash  with relatively  little effort necessary on your part.

No particular type of photograph is being ruled in or out although Troubles pictures are the most sought after. Pictures of personalities in unfamiliar surroundings and before they became famous (or infamous!) would be of interest as would views of places that have changed dramatically over the years, people in period clothes or uniforms, using long-forgotten farm machinery, doing  jobs that no longer exist, town and village centres as they were 50 or 100 years ago or longer. The choice is only as great as your imagination.  Click on Photos Suggestions for a comprehensive listing of the type of images I have in mind. WARNING: If  any image is still within copyright you must be the copyright owner for it to be accepted for web publication. If in doubt talk to me.

I do not retain YOUR originals. I scan and get them back to your safe-keeping as fast as I can. If you can scan them yourself just email me a large jpeg or tiff file.  If for any reason you wish to withdraw your images they will be removed from display immediately

Now down to the nitty-gritty. I deal with the clients and negotiate the best price I can and you get 66% of any fees obtained.

If you have any queries don't hesitate to get in touch with me. Evening calls are ok but please make them before 8 pm.  Remember also that I am on GMT. If you have an image which you believe has suddenly become newsworthy call me at any time.
